1st Kyle Valley Scout Group is a welcoming, community-driven Scout group that empowers young people to build confidence, develop practical life skills, and enjoy outdoor adventure through fun, teamwork, and leadership opportunities.

We are based in the Tholthorpe, supporting young people from local communities and surrounding villages.

1st Kyle Valley Scout Group offers a varied and engaging programme that combines outdoor adventure with hands-on learning. Members take part in activities that promote resilience, teamwork, and independence, alongside regular camps, community involvement, and opportunities for personal growth all year round.

We have our very own Scouts hall and mini-bus, all available for hire, see below to submit an enquiry.

Young people from 1st Kyle Valley Scouts achieved an outstanding weekend during their third group camp at How Stean Gorge. The youngest Beavers (aged 7–8) showed great independence on their first trip, quickly building friendships and fully engaging in every activity.

All groups pushed themselves physically and mentally—completing 6-mile and 10-mile hikes, with the older group reaching Scar House Reservoir. They also took on demanding activities like via ferrata, gorge walking, and caving, showing resilience, courage, and teamwork throughout.

Across the camp, every young person contributed by helping others, learning new skills, and embracing challenges, making the weekend a significant achievement for all involved.
